Author: When I went to a live event, it was on tuesday and it was ECW, then smackdown right after. That’s why smackdown and ecw both have the same titantron set up and stage. Then why do they call it Friday Night smackdown?
You must be new to this section (no offense).
Everybody here knows Smackdowns are taped on Tuesdays and everybody here knows Smackdowns air on Fridays. And every week we go through the same damn thing. Those who can attend the tapings and those who read spoilers feel the need to post the results here to ruin the shows for those of us who want to actually watch Smackdown and see for ourselves what transpires. We complain and we ask that they not post Smackdown results, but it does no good.
The reason they tape both shows one after the other is to save money on production costs. Smackdown’s TV time slot is on Friday, thus the name.

Because they tape it live on a tuesday with ecw and air it on friday … they do this so they can edit it or sumthin

Yah, I knew that. It’s just taped. It would be stupid if they called it Tuesday Night Smackdown if it airs on the television on Friday. I think it is kinda odd that they say it is live in the corner of the screen, though.
