In this all-show-review edition of The Wrestling Roundtable, the panel discusses two pay-per-views from Total Nonstop Action & World Wrestling Entertainment respectively.
For Genesis, Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff’s introduction of the 4-sided ring is talked about, along with Abyss Vs. the debuting Mr. Ken Anderson, Sean Morley against Christopher Daniels, Desmond Wolfe Vs. “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero, X Divison Champion Red defending against Brian Kendrick, and TNA Champion AJ Styles’ heel turn with Ric Flair on Kurt Angle.
For Elimination Chamber, we discuss the two Chamber matches : RAW’s John Cena Vs. Randy Orton Vs. Ted Dibiase Jr Vs. Kofi Kingston Vs. Triple H Vs. wwe Champion Sheamus, and smackdown’s Rey Mysterio Jr Vs. R-Truth Vs. CM Punk Vs. Chris Jericho vs. John Morrison Vs. (WCW) World Heavyweight Champion The Underatker, as well as US Champion The Miz against MVP and Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre Vs. Kane. We also touch upon The Royal Rumble 2010 won by the surprise return of Edge.

I’m not defensive about people disagreeing with me, I’m defensive about people saying goofy, untrue stuff, like the old “you’re too negative” which really means “you ripped on something I liked myself” and ignores all the positive stuff I listed as examples above. You’re free to like AJ as a heel for whatever reason(none of which I can see), just as I am to not, I’m not the one saying you can’t think some things suck in any amount & call them out for it.

Yes, every time, …
Yes, every time, like when we talk about the things we like, such as The Pope/Desmond or the Angle/Desmond match from Turning Point, or the Joe/AJ/Daniels matches, or the Angle/Joe matches, or Lockdown last year, etc. etc. etc., we never say they’re “great” or “awesome,” you’re right, I must have hallucinated those. And yeah, all the things we don’t like? We shouldn’t say we don’t like them. We should say we like the things we don’t like. Makes perfect sense.

I had to stop …
I had to stop watching this video after the negativity about the TNA main event at Genesis.
When you guys don’t like something, you always say ‘it sucked’ or ‘it was shit’. But when they do something good you just say ‘it was okay’ or whatever. I know you take the out of people for saying you’re negative, but you come across that way. Every time.
With the AJ Styles heel turn, I liked it because I didn’t expect it. And I think what they’ve done with AJ now more than makes it worthwhile.

The 6-sided ring …
The 6-sided ring wasn’t capturing any of the casual audience because unfamiliar…if they have an oddball ring, what other weird stuff do they have? Being an alternative is fine…do that by playing toward the older crowd…but trying to be different by gimmicking yourself out gets old after awhile and people turn on the product (how many variations of the something-on-a-pole match have we gotten?). With 4 sides, TNA can be taken seriously by the CASUAL fans, who are wrestling’s bread & butter.

Yeah I agree. The six-sided ring is just an eyesore. Sure, it’s good for the X-Division in which it was originally for, but for the other matches. Just don’t do it. It does put TNA on the map for originality, but the four sided ring is more accustomed for this sport than any other.

Am I the only guy who knew at the end of the ppv, Batista would somehow get the belt?
Of course my original prediciton was R-Truth getting jumped by Batista before the chamber match, like Kofi got jumped last year.
All and all, I was surprised HBK screwed Undertaker for a Mania match, and I am glad Jericho FINALLY gets to defend a world title at Mania!

when I first saw the six sided ring I thought that was interesting…bizarre…but interesting.
Bishoff made a HUGE mistake doing the traditional 4 sided ring. He ultimately defeated the purpose of TNA trying to go against the grain that is WWE
